Back to Louetta Week 6

What's up?

So the news is in, I'm getting transferred. I'm going to H5 (Houston 5th Ward) and I'm gonna be a district leader, that means more work for me! I'm glad to have come back and just see the difference in the Ward here, but I feel like my time is done. In H5 I'm gonna be whitewashing  (both missionaries are new to the area), so that should be pretty fun. I can promise you that I'm not just having fun, we do have quite a few investigators, one should be baptized Saturday, which I'm happy for. That means I will come back to see it!

This week was pretty slow, a lot fell through :( it was still a really fun last week with the trio. On Tuesday we had a really cool activity with the youth. It was a MTC night where we had three stations with a few different activities. One was a p-day, and they wrote letters and did sports. Two, a study were they read the intro to the Book of
Mormon and then committed to write their testimony in it and give it to a friend. And the third was a street contacting station. Then the mission president came and did a little thing on invitations. It was really good, and maybe something y'all could do in your Ward. That was probably the highlight of the week.

Today we are having a great p-day, we did Zumba again and now we're golfing. It is a blast, and I'm really loving it. We also went to a burger joint with a member which was really good. Oh, while I was there, I lost a game and had to eat a spoonful of ghost pepper hot sauce, and it is killer, definitely wouldn't recommend it. It burnt really bad.

Thanks for that picture of me and Lathen. It's hard to believe it's already been two years. Love you mom!

P.S. The old guy is Wayne, he is a member of the English Ward we ran into. He talks a lot and has some interesting stories. It was a fun encounter with him

Back to Louetta Week 5

What's good in the hood? I know I'm cheesey.

Yes I got all the camel emails, and I laughed. (I sent him pictures for "hump" day, the halfway mark) Thanks so much mom. And yes I did get the card, and I laughed, it's an awesome card. Thanks for the stamps! I will use them!

I love hearing about all my sisters and how they are doing. I'm glad that Lathen is enjoying preschool more this year than last. I'm kinda jealous about all the concerts y'all have been able to go to. I guess that's from the money saved from me eating the whole world, haha just kidding. I have stayed about the same weight all throughout the mission, and hopefully I won't get too fat this last year, just stay how I am, all beautiful and everything. I'm kinda excited about next year for college and moving on with life, but I will be really sad when that time comes. I haven't really felt a difference in life, everything still seems the same, but it is still in the back of my head. (I asked how he felt about hitting the halfway mark)

Ok, this week was pretty fun, teaching English class is really fun, I love doing it. I do get a little animated when I do it, but that's just the weird part of me coming out. I do a little acting and drawing, people laugh and we have a great time. On Wednesday and Thursday I was on an exchange up in Conroe. I was kinda sad that I wasn't with my comps on my year mark, but what ever, I lived. Everything else was pretty much the same. Today though we went and did some Zumba stuff in the morning which was really fun. It is a really good workout and I hope I won't be too sore tomorrow. We were gonna go golfing with Obispo (Bishop) Martinez, but I think now we are gonna go bowling. I'm really excited for this.

Well, I hope y'all have a great day, and week. I can't wait to hear what's up next week!

Back to Louetta Week 4

What's up everyone?

I hope you got home in time for the missionaries, and they get delicious foods. I love hearing about y'all's vacations and other fun stuff that happens in your life. I can't believe that Lilly is in first grade, that's really weird to me, she was barely in school when I left. Basically everyone is growing up and I am kinda not OK with it. I hope your back and burns don't get too bad and get better soon! I have not gotten a letter yet, but I might today, I'm really excited for the stamps, I got Valerie's address, so I can send her stuff as well! I did get the resend, and they all look great, Arielle's eyes look a little demonic though (just the way the picture is).

Our P-Days are usually shop, email, and play. It really isn't too complicated. We do some soccer, but last week we did some nerf, awesome! We are such kids but I don't care. We do have a fun set of missionaries. My week went by pretty normally, nothing too out of the ordinary. We started to teach this one kid whose records were lost. He is basically a member, but he just needs to be rebaptized, we hope it will be soon, and then we can help him out and get him on a mission, I think that would be really fun to do.

Also Friday we had zone conference, which is fun as always. Good to see other missionaries. A part of the training was on patience, and that is something I still need to work on, oh well, I guess I'm not as perfect as I thought I was (I'm still pretty, no, extremely awesome, don't worry). Something fun they do in addition to volleyball on Fridays is a little bit of dodgeball, so it's a doubly whammy  Friday nights.

Today, I impulse bought a Star Wars cars windshield thing to block the sun out because it is hot and the inside of the car is hot. It was a pretty fun week, and hopefully the people of the Ward get here soon so we can soccer it up!

I love yall so much!

Back to Louetta Week 3

What's up mom?!

I'm glad everything went OK through the week. I'm really jealous that y'all got to go to Hershey. It would have been really fun to go with y'all. Even Lathen likes the coasters? I guess that makes Valerie the only one who doesn't like them, oh well. It's always fun to hear about your week, especially the last one of the summer. I hope
everyone has a good year in school.

Well, this week was a pretty normal week. I can only really think of two things that happened this week that is worth mentioning. The one thing was a giant meeting on Friday that helped us learn how to better teach English class. It lasted for about 5 hours, shoot me please. It was pretty fun at times, we tried out some possible activities we can incorporate, and the fun part was that we were put into groups with other missionaries. I met another missionary named Elder Pigott, he's just a really funny kid.

The other fun thing that happened was Sunday, just a really good day. We had stake conference, which is so much funner after you have served in multiple wards. Saying hi to everyone and whatnot. Then after stake conference there was a baptism in the Ward (sisters not us) but it was really fun to go and be part of that. As missionaries we got to sing a song which was really fun.

Well, we got pday activities, sports at the capilla, which is gonna be a lot of fun.

Back to Louetta Week 2

What's up mother (who knows best)?!

Mom, you over exaggerated, I only have two companions, not three, but we get along great, the trio life is pretty fun. Do you wanna know something cool? There is a Rita's in our area, so we are probably gonna hit it up today, but they don't know that yet. Haha. Yes I did get something from grandma Becky, I'll send her a card, thanks for the reminders, saving my life even when I'm not at home, that's a true mom for ya! I believe everyone else is good for thank you's.

Y'alls vacation sounded like it was a ton of fun, something funny though, when y'all said you went to Martha's Vineyard, I was thinking where have I heard that before, history class? Nah, but then I remembered it was from Assassins Creed 3 (the American Revolution one) and so there, those games help out with history. But it sounded like a bunch of fun, the water sports and what not. I miss those (especially swimming). Telling me about vacations like this doesn't get me homesick, in fact I think I would be angry if you didn't tell me about it. I love being kept in the loop, and hearing about all the fun that y'all are having.

So, this week has been pretty much the same as any other week. We found a list of guys ages 18-25 who haven't been on missions yet, and so we tried going and visiting some of them, and help them out and get them going to their missions. I think it would be pretty cool to be able to help someone out like that.

Something really fun is that every Friday we go and play volleyball with a lot of people from the Ward, and a lot of no miembros, so it's super fun and I look forward to Friday's with avid interest.

Probably the highlight of my week was the Zone Conference that we had. President Mortensen is such an inspired man and really in tune with the spirit. The theme for this Zone Conference was the fifth lesson in PME, about the Laws and Ordinances. We touched a lot on eternal families/family history and the priesthood. He was able to bring up some really cool points about the blacks in the priesthood, and how the Lord has always had a manner of only choosing a potion of his people to have the priesthood, for example the Levites were the only tribe to get the priesthood. It was just a lot of mind blowing stuff.

Last night there was a "Why We Believe" fireside, which is basically a mission presidents fireside with some testimonies of the new converts. We were invited to be a part of the choir for this fireside and that was really fun. About 10 minutes before it started, the power went out, so it was dark, and there was no AC (really hot😵) but President Mortensen was able to tie that in with his message. It was a spiritual fireside even with the power out, and then after we got to talk with other missionaries, which is always so much fun. I met a hermana from Connecticut. #eastcoastrules

I love you all so much, y'all rock!
